Located in a historic Art Deco building on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the new Galeries Lafayette flagship store turns the shopping experience into a constantly changing spectacle that at once re-imagines the shopping experience while still respecting the building’s heritage. A hallmark of the redesign is the “Vitrine Infinie”—the Infinite Storefront. In response to the storefront’s narrow display area—only 5 meters wide—a system of giant glass bubbles suspended on a zip line move slowly and silently around and through the store, displaying the best selection of fashions; during closed hours, the very same system will be used for restocking the sales floor. As this project was in detail design I assisted with interior detailing before moving to the interior design team. As part of Interior design team I worked closely with clients and created exhibition spaces, interior furniture and industrial elements for displaying various products and merchandise. I also assisted in detailing and creating drafting documents for local designers.
